Gluten-Free Living Show Offers Alternatives for All

For Immediate Release

Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada – The 8th annual Fraser Valley Food Show on April 1, 2 & 3, 2016 presents the 3rd Gluten-Free Living Show. Over half the floor space at the show is devoted to Gluten-Free food products and will be sampled and sold by the manufacturers and producers themselves so visitors can get first hand information on the wide range of food products.

On the Celebrity Cooking Stage Food Network’s celebrated Surreal Gourmet, Bob Blumer will demonstrate his famous gluten-free grilled pizza and other gluten free recipes from his bestselling book: Pizza on the Grill.   Also on stage, Dr. Theresa Nicassio, the Inclusive Chef and author of YUM, plant-based recipes for a gluten-free diet, will present 3 great demos that will knock your socks off. These are not only delicious treats, but are ones that most people can freely enjoy. All are easy enough for a 12-year-old to make and all recipes have been especially selected with allergy-friendly ingredients.

According to the Canadian Celiac Association, “it is estimated that 1 in 133 persons in Canada are affected by celiac disease, a genetic condition which is a permanent intolerance to gluten, a protein found in various wheat, rye, & barley.” Individuals with celiac disease, DH (the celiac disease of skin) and gluten sensitivity must adhere to a strict gluten free diet. Holidays are always challenging for both the celiac and the host of the event but many of the regular menu items can be adapted to gluten free, just by substituting gluten free ingredients. Remember there are many good gluten free companies that can make your event less stressful and more enjoyable. The CCA will be at this year’s show to answer questions from the public.
